Of course behind indoor plumbing, cars, telephones, computers and electricity, which incidentally you need to use a crock pot. Anyway, you get the idea.
I think crock pots are especially useful for clean eaters because we end up having to make so many meals from scratch. Which takes a lot longer than opening a can, box or bag bought from the store. We need all the help we can get.

1. Easy Pot Roast Crock Pot – Clean Eating Recipes
Chuck Roast – Potatoes – Onion – Carrots – Beef Broth
Cooking a pot roast in the crock pot really is the way to go. It makes the roast so tender and it just melts in your mouth if it’s cooked right. You could make this with any kind of potato you want or you could even use parsnips instead. I cut the vegetables in big chunks to they don’t go as mushy. Actually sometimes I don’t even put the vegetables in the crock pot until there is only a couple hours left for the roast to cook. I recommend you make the gravy. I have the most success with this method of making gravy, it prevent clumps.
2. Slow Cooker Beef Stew – My Natural Family
Stew Meat – Parsnips – Carrots – Onion – Beef Stock – Tapioca Starch
I like making stew now because I always make it in the crock pot. I can cook it all day while I do other things. Then I can have a fantastic meal when it’s dinner time. You can either cook it on low for 8-9 hours or on high for 6 hours. That gives you flexibility but I have to admit that I prefer cooking my on low for longer. It’s turns out more tender and I can start it first thing in the morning and get it over with. It’s a great one pot meal.
3. Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs – Clean Eating Recipes
This is my Nana’s authentic Italian recipe but I made a few changes. I think the changes make it better. My Nana used to put pork chops in it which she said gave it flavor but I didn’t think it did. I mix ground beef and ground pork together to make the meatballs. My Mom adds Italian sausage to her ground beef when she makes the meatballs. It adds a lot of flavor because there aren’t hardly any spices in my Nana’s sauce. My Nana cooked this all day for at least 8 hours in a pot on the stove top, that way the flavors blend and it cooked off a lot of the juice from the tomatoes and made the sauce more thick like it should be. It works well to make it in the crock pot too.

She just leaves out the toppings. This taco soup is so so easy to make and it’s still clean. You just open a bunch of cans of beans, tomatoes and tomato sauce, add some spices and ground beef and you’re done. Let it simmer for a few minutes and BAM dinner is ready just like that.
5. Beef and Broccoli – Well Plated
Beef and broccoli isn’t just a takeout classic any more. It’s one of the most budget friendly and easiest stir-fry dishes you can make. The sauce is a mixture of oyster sauce and soy sauce and a few seasonings. I wanted this to be clean so I used honey instead of sugar. It only takes about 2 hours to cook this in the crock pot on high. You could prep all of the ingredients the day before and toss them in the crock pot when you get home from work if you want to.

12. Pot Roast with Sweet Potato Mash – Noshtastic
It is possible to cook a pot roast too long in the crock pot. It will be stringy but that has never bothered me. I just love the convenience of a crock pot. Just follow the instructions and your pot roast will turn out just fine. I don’t think that browning before hand makes very much of a difference, so I don’t bother doing that. I don’t like mushy potatoes so I really like to make a side dish of mashed sweet potatoes to eat with this but you can make it the way you want to.
