Apple Cinnamon French Toast Bake

This Clean Eating apple cinnamon french toast bake is made with whole grains and contains no refined sugar. The caramel sauce makes it perfect for special occasions.



  1. Combine the coconut sugar, brown rice syrup, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat
  2. While stirring constantly, cook until a thick syrup forms (it reminds me of caramel)
  3. Spread the sauce onto the bottom of a greased 9×13 baking pan
  4. Add a thin layer of apples over the caramel layer
  5. Combine the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl and mix well
  6. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture and layer over the apple slices
  7. Pour the remaining egg mixture into the baking pan
  8. Cover and refrigerate overnight (you can skip this step and go right to baking at this point)
  9. Preheat the oven to 350 F degrees
  10. Bake 30-40 minutes uncovered
  11. Serve while warm
