Here is a wonderful clean eating pecan pie recipe that will complete your Thanksgiving dinner. This is really easy to make once you get the crust made. Thanksgiving is coming! Which means good food, family, football, good food, naps, movies, and yes more good food. I am a huge fan of Thanksgiving – who doesn’t love a holiday dedicated to eating – – ok, ok it isn’t solely dedicated to eating, but you get the idea. I am not however, a fan of over indulging in a huge plate of food that makes me feel sluggish, tired, and uncomfortable.
I believe I can enjoy the holidays with a plate full of healthy classics, wholesome desserts, and of course enjoying one of my aunt’s famous sugar cookies. That is my type of Thanksgiving, and no, I don’t have to give up any flavor or decadence when I choose healthy Thanksgiving classics including desserts; my Pumpkin Pie and this clean eating pecan pie are perfect examples of that!
This clean eating pecan pie is full of heart-healthy pecans, made with a whole grain pie crust, and sweetened with pure maple syrup and coconut sugar, and it is so GOOD! Seriously, it is tasty. You could serve this to a crowd, and even the super stubborn family member that insists Thanksgiving Dinner won’t taste good if it is healthy will like this pie! It is definitely on my “to bring” list for my Thanksgiving celebration.
I love pecan pie, but it’s funny because I’d never heard of it until I got married. It wasn’t something that was a tradition in our home growing up. I think it’s interesting how we all have our traditions including our likes and dislikes. I don’t think my mother disliked pecan pie, it just wasn’t something her mother made so it wasn’t on her radar. When I got married and my husband introduced me to pecan pie I was hooked. I couldn’t believe I’d never heard of it and I couldn’t believe how much it liked it.
After that, I decided I wanted to make a new tradition and include pecan pie on my list of must-haves for every Thanksgiving dinner. That’s when the real work began. I was on the hunt for a good healthy clean eating pecan pie recipe. One with no refined sugar or Karo syrup and with a good healthy crust. The crust wasn’t a problem, I already had that one under control. I tweaked a basic pecan pie recipe and came up with this. I think it turned out wonderful and I hope you’ll think so too.
Yes, you guessed it. My mom loves pecan pie now especially a good Clean Eating pecan pie like this one. Oh, and don’t forget the whipped cream on top, that makes it taste so much better.

This Clean Eating pecan pie recipe has all the good taste of a pecan pie without all the unhealthy ingredients.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Prepare the pie crust in a 9 inch pie pan
- Combine all other ingredients together in large mixing bowl
- Pour into prepared pie crust
- Bake for 45 minutes
- Allow to cool and enjoy!
